Rajwar Roads in Shambles, Authorities in Deep Slumber, Locals Appeal for LG’s Intervention

Srinagar July 9 (KNS): Residents of several villages of Rajwar Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday expressed strong anger against the PMGSY Department for failing to complete macadamization of roads in the area.
Residents told KNS that two road projects of PMGSY Division Handwara are in shambles in Rajwar including Zachaldara-Satkoji, Wadder Payeen to Wadder Bala road which has caused lot of trouble to passerby.
They said it has been more than nine years the Zachaldara- Satkoji is yet to be completed despite crores of funds were spent over it, trees within alignment of road are yet to be cut down.
Similarly Wadder Payeen to wadder Bala road project is also headache for public, despite repeated attempts of public to highlight the issue with higher ups, nothing positive was done so far.
They appealed Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu for early intervention and sought immediate completion of these projects.
Meanwhile when KNS tried to reach out Executive Engineer PMGSY Division Handwara Farooq Ahmad, he didn’t respond. (KNS)
