Srinagar, April 09 (KNS):SMC corporator Shaheen Bhat Thursday appealed Lieutenant Governor Girish Chander Murmu to release Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran and other detained corporators in wake of current situation.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Shaheen, a Corporator from Rajbagh area appealed LG Murmu to allow Deputy Mayor SMC Sheikh Imran and others to walk home.

"I along with other Corporators request to Governer LG Murmu to release our Dy Mayor and another Corporator who had been taken into preventive custody on August 5, 2019 soon after New Delhi scrapped special status of Jammu and Kashmir".

He said Dy Mayor Sheikh Imran is under detention from eight months now. Despite court ordered his release but authorities didn't obey such orders so far.

He added faimly of Dy Mayor has been suffered badly as they knock every door since to get justice. (KNS)
