Pulwama 17 June (KNS): District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Raghav Langer visited various areas of Tral and inspected various developmental projects including the land proposed for Trout Breeding and Rearing Project at DharamGund Aripal.

The DDC was accompanied by ADC Tral , Exen R&B, Tehsildar Tral , Ad . Fisheries, SHO Tral and other concerned officers.
While having an inspection of the site for the Trout Breeding and Hatchery centre at Dharsmgund ,DDC said that aim of tour was to identify the suitable chunk of land for establishing the Fish Rearing and Hatching project.
He said 10 kanals of additional land would be acquisited for the purpose which will increase the production of quality trout seed from 2.5 lac to 5 lac .The team had a negotiation meeting with the land owners surrounding the natural spring which is being tapped with under the supervision of technical expertise.He said that the project will be first of its kind in the district to make the District self sufficient to cater the future seed requisition to boost the Trout production in the district and supplying the additional produce to adjoining districts. He added that perspective profit of the project will be approximately 25-30 lacs per annum that can be doubled in the proceeding years besides providing employment to hundreds of unemployed youth of the district. He added that the accompolishment of the project will increase Trout Fish production to 200 quintals per annum. He further added that the place has a huge tourism potential and a untrodden spot for angling and game fishing.
It is pertinent to mention that sustainability of Private fish farming is directly dependent upon the timely availability of quality seed. The establishment of hatchery would be pivotal in connecting the structural glitches and timely and accessible availablity of quality seed would be a major step towards doubling the farmers income and booming fish farming as a lucrative farming practice.

During the visit enroute , DDC inspected the construction of Tral - Satura road executed by R& B Department besides having a spot review of Aripal - Naristan and Dobiwan road which are being executed by PMGSY .
DDC issued directions to the accompanying Executive Engineers for the timely completion of the road projects.
Later on DDC inspected the Fishery Inspection Hut at Naristan and interacted with scores of anglers , angling there.(KNS)
