Pulwama June 04 (KNS):Hundreds of complaints have poured from many quarters regarding the negligence on the part of doctors who are prima facie responsible for discharging of two patients without waiting for their COVID 19 test results .The two patients were who were discharged without following SOP were latter tested positive for the COVID 19 .
Scores of people expressed their resentment against the insensitivity of doctors towards the gravity of threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and appealed higher authorities for a high level enquiry into the matter.
Few members of civil society pulwama told this news agency that the sheer unprofessionalism exhibited by few doctors is creating a fear psychosis among the general public and doctors are loosing the trust , people have posed upon them.
When this News agency contacted the District Authorities regarding the matter , senior officials said that they have taken the cognisance of the matter and amid rising public demand are initiating a high level enquiry to probe into the matter. They said that we can't allow anyone to put thousands of lives into danger and necessary action as per relevant laws shall be taken against the found erring officials.
Earlier two patients admitted to Zenith Nursing Home, one a resident of Arihal was admitted in hospital on 28 May and was discharged on 30 May,another patient resident of main town pulwama was admitted in hospital on 29 May and discharged on 31 May .Both the patients had undergone appendectomy and after a stay of two nights at the Nursing Home which was acquired by the DDMA in the month of march and supervised by Medical Superintendent District hospital pulwama were discharged by concerned authorities without waiting for their test samples which were latter tested positive for the Coronavirus.
Senior Officials added that the Authorities have sealed the whole hospital premises and all the persons including recuperating patients , doctors , paramedics ,attendants , service providers has been quarantined in the hospital premise itself and samples are being collected .Moreover aggressive contact tracing has been initiated and the suspects are being put into quarantine.
It is pertinent to mention that People all across the district have expressed their displeasure over the negligence and insensitivity of the doctors amid reeling pandemic and has demanded stern action against the persons involved in pioneering the spread of Community infection.
Few members of the Civil society said that action as per IPC penal provisions and Epidemic Disease act shall be initiated against the perpetrators .They said that the same hospital was also used for conducting private surgeries earlier despite being taken over by the Government.
Residents of Tral also appealed the district District Adminstation to expedite the enquiry ordered earlier against BMO Tral who irrationality discharged few returnees from the Quarantine Centre before the receipt of their COVID test reports.
An attendant while speaking to this News agency said that no SOP is being followed by the doctors during examination and no social distancing practice being enforced despite District Authorities have issued orders regards non wearing of face masks .
Civil society expressed displeasure over the handling of affairs by MS ,DH and said that the incumbent rarely visits the hospital and lacks the lusture to work with devotion and carefulness.(KNS)
