Srinagar,April 14 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Doctors Cordination Committee (JKDCC) Convenor Dr Mohd Yousuf Tak in a statement issued here said that, "whole world is fighting this invisible enemy (covid19) which has challenged the whole world and the health care workers are on the forefront to treat and defend our community from its spread"

A statement issued to KNS reads President Doctors Association Jammu, Dr Balwinder Singh added that, "though it is our professional obligation and we are under hippocratic oath to serve the patients irrespective of any caste, creed or sex but at the same time we want to emphasize that till we are not safe and properly protected by adequate Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) it becomes arduous to deliver to our best of capacity and capability.

President Doctors  Association Kashmir, Dr Suhail Naik  added that, "since our health officials are leaving no stone unturned to serve our community and we can very well understand the stress on the administration at this point of time but at the same time we believe that they should be at least provided with the quality refreshment which is the least which we can expect".

General.Secretary Doctors  Association Kashmir, Dr Owais H Dar once again requests the Government of Jammu and Kashmir that suitable accommodation along with food and other necessary logistics must be provided to all health care workers who are working in COVID-19 related activities like Flu Opd, Isolation or quarantine duties and to those who are associated with sampling or surveillance duties.

Spokesperson JK SCD, Dr Masood Rashid said that in the larger interest of public health care it is imperative that each health care worker must be equipped with adequate personal protective gear as while discharging their duties they may come across Asymptomatic undiagnosed Covid-19 patients which after their diagnosis leads to quarantine of the Medical staff who were dealing with the patient thereby depleting the already existing staff to quarantine.

General Secretary DAJ, Dr Manjeet Singh said that doctors across the Region are always ready to support their people during any emergency while as for minor ailments they need to take telephonic
Consultations being provided by the doctors, lists of which have been issued by us from time to time.

It is pertinent to mention here that JKDCC is an amalgam of Doctor Association of Kashmir,  Doctors Association Jammu, Society of Consultant Doctors, Society of Dental Surgeons JK and Chenab Valley Doctors Association.

JKDCC stresses upon the Financial Commissioner Health and Medical  Education to look into the matter and sort out the issue so that the morale of each health care worker is boosted. JKDCC further appeals the general public to stay at home and follow Government Advisories in letter and spirit in the betterment of Our society.(KNS)
