Protest against BMO in Handwara, locals seek immediate removal

Srinagar, June 07, (KNS): Residents of Chogal Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Handwara for his vituperative language and appealed authorities to remove him for the collective interest of healthcare services in the district.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, locals of Handwara and adjoining villages reached the office of BMO in Choghal area and started protest against the official. He said protestors were chanting anti-BMO slogans and appealed authorities for his immediate removal.

The BMO at the occasion got furious and started hurling abuses upon the protestors and media men who were there to cover the protest.

“No one can remove me from here, I will do what I want”, BMO said while getting furious over protestors.

Protestors appealed authorities to take strict action against the officials and remove him for the area at an earliest.

Pertinently Doctors Association of Kashmir (Kupwara) had also registered its protest against the official for his vituperative comments with medical fraternity and patients as well. They had written separate letters to DC Kupwara and Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education for immediate intervention. (KNS)
