Prominent political activists including two unsuccessful DDC candidates join Apni Party in Anantnag


Srinagar, January 1:(KNS) Ms Gazala Hamid and Ms Jabeena Akhter the Two prominent women political activists who unsuccessfully contested the recently concluded DDC elections in district Anantnag on Friday joined Apni Party.

 

Ms Gazala fought DDC elections as an independent candidate from Achabal while Ms Jabeena contested these elections as an independent candidate from Khovripora constituency.

 

In a statement to Kashmir News Service (KNS) reads, that the two political activists joined Apni Party alongwith few Panchayat representatives at two different events convened in district Anantnag where they were welcomed by the Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, District President Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather, Provincial Secretary Nazir Ahmad Dailgami, party youth leaders Mir Imad Rafi and Peerzada Abdul Hamid.

 

Speaking at one of these occasions, Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir urged the party workers to initiate a mass outreach programme in the district to have a firsthand account of the peoples’ problems. He also impressed upon the youth to start a door-to-door programme wherein they can know the ground situation besides strengthening the party cadre in their respective areas.

 

In another event, Party’s district president Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather urged the Party workers to discuss and deliberate upon the Party’s socio-economic and political agenda among themselves and then disseminate the same among the people.

 

Rather impressed on the new entrants to continue with their indefatigable efforts to address the day to day basis problems faced by the common people in their own areas.

 

He added that the Apni Party envisions a holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir and for achieving this objective people need to come forward and give this party a chance to prove its commitment.(KNS)
