Professor Soz demands early return of stranded Kashmiri labourers

Srinagar, April 19 (KNS): Senior Congress leader and former union Minister professor Saif u Din Soz on Sunday said, today, I received frantic calls from stranded Kashmiri labourers in Kagda and other areas of Himachal Pradesh for help to return to their homes in Kupwara & other districts of Kashmir.
The labour leaders – Mohammad Shafi (7889709496) and Fayaz Ahmad Mir (7006478546) explained their ordeal saying that since lockdown got imposed, they got unemployed and were exposed to hardships of life.
Accordingt o statement issued to KNS, Soz said said that they (an odd number of 300 labours or more) could walk upto Pathankot where from they should be taken to their home districts of Kupwara and else where.
The labour leaders said that many more are stranded in other parts of the Himachal Pradesh.
I urge the J&K Union Territory Govt. to organize a sizeable effort to help stranded Kashmiri labourers in Himachal Pradesh.
It is a matter that needs to be taken up by the J&K UT Govt. with the Himachal Pradesh Govt. on war footing.
The Labour leaders – Fayaz Ahmad and Mohammad Ashraf have assured that they would provide help to locate stranded persons, all around.
The J&K Union Territory Govt. could straightaway take up the matter with Himachal Govt. and facilitate safe return of the labourers to their homes in Kashmir. (KNS)
