NC launches membership drive in Banihal;

Banihal , April 03 (KNS): National Conference on Saturday launched membership drive in an impressive function held in Banihal today. The meeting was presided over by Party District president, Ramban Sajjad Shaheen and was attended by prominent party functionaries of all frontol organizations besides elected DDC Counsilors, BDC Chairman , elected Panches and Sarpanches, Party delegates of Banihal constituency. 

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS)Shaheen while addressing the gathering said, the much touted development was not perceptible on the ground and the local youth in particular were at the receiving end. “Thousands of educated young women and men in Jammu & Kashmir are bearing the brunt of unemployment and are struggling to find jobs. Prevailing economic crises and administrative inertia has compounded the scenario,” Shaheen said.
He further said that the political vacuum in the erstwhile state has increased the gap between the administration and people resulting into development deficit in the entire Jammu and Kashmir especially in rural areas.

 Referring to the recently held DDC elections in J&K, the District President said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have yet again reposed their faith on the party to salvage them from the current quagmire and that it was imperative for all of us to rise up to the expectations of people in these trying times.
“. People have reemphasized that they trust none but National Conference. DDC election results have attested to our mass base in all the regions of J&K, the need of the hour though is to strengthen it and perk up our organizational structure and broaden it more aggressively than ever before. 

“ People know how our party helped to purge them from the miserable past overcast with feudal subjugation; now they have again set their eyes on us to salvage them to safe shores from the prevailing state of despondency and disillusionment. Therefore, the party functionaries should gear themselves up to face the challenges with increased vehemence,” he said.

He urged the cadre to take membership drive seriously to strengthen the party at grass root level saying people have huge expectations from the party and its leadership and National Conference is committed to stand with the aspirations of people of the erstwhile state of Jammu & kashmir.

DDC member Mr B.A. Runyal thanked the party cadre for their continuous support to party and its program and urged the party cadre to stand united to fight the communal forces.
 The need of the hour calls for increasing our efforts to improve our base on ground to face the challenges ahead. The need of the hour is to make it more inclusive, diverse, dynamic and representative.”
