Police Public meet held in Sheeri Baramulla, officials assured resolution of issues in coming days

Baramulla, June 14 (KNS): A Police Public meet was held on Sunday in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district wherein all participants adhered upon Covid-19 lockdown guidelines and maintained social distancing while police sought cooperation from local population in eradication of social evils.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a Police – Public meet was held at Police Station Sheeri chaired by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarter Gulzar Rashid. At this occasion Station House Officer (SHO) Sheeri Sajad Ahmad was also present. The meet was attended by 40 – 50 respectable citizens of Narwaw belt falling under the jurisdiction of PS Sheeri.

At this occasion, advisory related to Covid-19 lockdown was strictly followed and participants maintained social distancing. Officials of the Police gave full attention to the grievances and other vital issues put forth by participants during the meet. However Police officials assured participants that all issues will be addressed as early as possible while as other issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments soon for resolutions.

Besides seeking helping hand in controlling timber smuggling, illegal encroachment of government owned land, police officials, during the meet, sought cooperation from the participants in eradication of social evils like drug menace, eve teasing etc.

In wake of Covid-19 pandemic, Police officials impressed upon the participants to strictly act upon the lockdown advisories issued by government in order to prevent spread of Corona virus which has affected more than five thousand population across J&K, among which 53 lost their battle of survival.

During the meet, Police officials requested citizens of the area to identify poor and downtrodden section of the society who needs food, medicines and other necessary things in tough times.

At the occasion DySP Hqr and SHO Sheeri thanked participants for their support during lockdown period and hoped people will work with police shoulder to shoulder in future as well. (KNS)
