Srinagar, May 27 (KNS): Police Wednesday took action against shopkeepers overcharging from the customers.
SDPO DH Pora Kulgam Ashiq Hussian accompanied by, SHO DH Pora , SHO Manzgam and officials of food and supplies visited different areas of the DH Pora Police sub division and checked the rate lists of the shopkeepers.
SDPO said the aim of the market checking was to ensure that good qualities of items are put on sale, besides, to curb black marketing & profiteering of essential commodities.
During surprise checks various shops ranging from those selling chicken, meat, vegetables, sweets and fruits were checked. General buyers of the market appreciated the step of the police along with food civil supplies and demanded that such drive must continue in the area (KNS)
