PHD chambers delegation meet Dir horticulture Kashmir


Srinagar, Sep 07 (KNS): A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce led by Showkat Chowdhary, President and others met Director Horticulture Kashmir-Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, KAS in his office chambers on toady 07.09.2020 and apprised him about the difficulties faced by orchardists of the Kashmir valley. The delegation requested Director Horticulture to revisit the High Density Plantation Scheme to make it broad based. Director advised the delegation to come up with a detailed proposal so that a comprehensive proposal is submitted to Administrative Department.
The delegation desired that the present facilities in the Pesticide Testing Laboratory may be upgraded so that all the tests are done in the State and the famers get quality pesticide and sale of spurious pesticides if any is checked.
The delegation further stressed that Grapes produced in Ganderbal District needs further improvement as this crop is available in the market at a time when no grapes are not available in the State.
Director Horticulture was requested to take up the matter with Government for establishment of more Industrial Food Parks in the UT.
Director Horticulture assured the delegation for consideration of all the issues which are in the ambit of Directorate. (KNS)
