PDP, PC demands cancellation of ‘ambulance merger’ order in Handwara

Srinagar, July 17 (KNS): Several political leaders from north Kashmir’s Handwara town on Friday expressed resentment over the decision of merger of critical care ambulances from DH Handwara.

In a statement issued to KNS, senior PDP leader Ghulam Nabi Panditpuri expressed grave concern and said the decision about merger of critical care ambulance to district is highly unfortunate and an attempt to put the lives of patients to risk.

He added the hospital is already lacking running short of medical equipments and other facilities and moving of ambulance service from the area will further deepen the wounds of insufficient healthcare system.

Meanwhile, PC leader Mohammad Sulieman Bhat said Handwara is already facing a dearth of ambulance vehicles.

Though locals are demanding second one, authorities snatched the existing one and thus deprived the area from this essential service.

They appealed authorities to revoke the decision in the interest of patients and ensure sufficient facilities to the hospital.

Among others who demand the revocation of the Decision are Mir Hafizullah district President, A.A.Kashmire District co-ordanater, Sheikh Ashaq Hussian constuncy head sheikh javeed and all block presidents.(KNS)
