Handwara, June 24 (KNS): It is bizarre as well as a shock for the people of Baderher Village, Handwara where Power Development Department (PDD) is unprecendently installing the transformer on ground along the road side putting in danger the lives of the people in the area.

According to reports the Baderher village got the transformer two years back after years of struggle and the concerned department chooses to install it on the ground instead of constructing a structure for housing the transformer.

The residents told KNS reporter that they have informed the concerned department several times about the same but the concerned department paid no heed to their pleas.

The residents said that they fail to understand that why the department chooses to install the transformer on the ground which poses serious threat to people of the area.

“Is installing transformers on ground a technological advancement or professional apathy?”, questioned locals. They further said that even children can touch the transformer easily as it is lying on the ground.
