Patient care badly hit in sub-division Kangan after transfer of laboratory technicians

Ganderbal, April 21 (KNS): The health affairs of Primary Health Centers in Sub-Division Kangan has been affected badly after the department ordered transfer of laboratory technicians from PHC's .

Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that amid scare of COVID-19 most of the Lab technicians transferred by the health department from Primary health centers of Sub division Kangan thus affecting the health work of these PHC's because no basic tests is being done in these hospitals after transfer of concerned technicians.

He said Ganderbal administration has recently declared district hospital as COVID-19 hospital and all the laboratory technicians of PHC's of Sub division Kangan were transferred which left no medical investigations are done in these primary health centres. He lso said that due to lack of technical manpower patients in general and expected mothers are facing severe difficulties.

According to the sources, if there is already a lockdown and people are confined into homes, then how will a patient go to another place to do the necessary test. They said that without permission, authorities not allowing patients to go anywhere.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kangan Dr Iqbal said that laboratory technicians have been shifted to district hospital Ganderbal as per roaster to perform the tests of Covid-19 positive patients. (KNS)
