According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), on July 15 this year 38 SMC councilors had moved a non-confidence motion against Deputy Mayor (acting Mayor) Parvez Ahmad Qadri.
As per SMC sources, all councilors were informed to attend the session to exercise their voting right which was scheduled to be held today on August 26.
However only 26 members were present today where as it was mandatory that more than half of the councilors were suppose to be present i.e. 36 members out of 70 councilors’ at present to take up the business of general session.
