Anantnag, August 10 (KNS): All claims of transparency and accountability have fallen flat in Mission Directorate, ICDS J&K who failed to act tough against officials who didn’t report to new place of postings despite passing of 45 days.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mission Directorate, ICDS, J&K on June 2020 issued an order regarding transfers and postings of few officials and clarified that the officials shall be deemed to have been relieved from the date of issuance of this order. But however despite passing of one and a half month, the members who have been transferred are yet to report to their new place of postings.
“As recommended by the District Officer, ICDS Anantnag vide her letter No. DPO/ICDS/Ang/2020/163-64 dated 02.06.2020, and in the interest of Administration, transfer/posting of following officials is hereby ordered with immediate effect: (1) Shri Reyaz Rather, Statistical Assitant ICDS Project Khoveripora, is hereby transferred and posted in ICDS Project Anantnag, (2) Shri Mohd Shafi Chopan, Senior Assistant ICDS Project Larkipora is hereby transferred in ICDS Project Shangus, (3) Shri Gull Mohd Najar, Senior Assistant ICDS Project Shangus is hereby transferred and posted in ICDS, Project Qazigund, (4) Shri Reyaz Ganei, I/C Senior Assistant ICDS Project Anantnag is hereby transferred and posted in ICDS Project Khoveripora, and (5) Shri Maqsood Ahmad Ganie, Junior Assistant ICDS Project Khoveripora is hereby transferred and posted in ICDS Project Larkipora”.
The order copy signed by Nitu Gupta (KAS), Mission Director ICDS, J&K and D S Katoch (KAS) Joint Director, ICDS directed officials to consider themselves relieved from the date of issuance of this order. However it has been 45 days and the officials are still working from their existing places except Shri Gull Mohd Najar, Senior Assistant who abided the order and joined new place of posting.
As per reports reaching to KNS, there is a complete mess in ICDS Anantnag. Sources told that officials at helm are purchasing sub-standard nutrition in Bijbehara and other projects including Qazigund, Shangus, Achabal, Khoveripora, Larkipora Dooru Shahabad, Breng Kokernag and Anantnag as well.
“Despite the complaints were taken to higher ups repeatedly, no action was taken so far which dared officials to play with administrative rules and regulations according to their wishes”, sources told.
As per sources, the district is functioning without ICDS from one and a half year and the charge had been given to Deputy Director ICDS Kashmir who is looking affairs besides her existing burden.
Meanwhile locals across the district appealed Director General Social Welfare and Director ICDS to intervene into the matter personally and ensure accountability and transparency in the department. They also demanded higher officials to ensure timely transfers in the department so that sluggish work culture could be defeated.
When KNS tried to contact Nitu Gupta (KAS), Mission Director ICDS, she didn’t respond to repeated calls from this office. However Director General ICDS responded and assured that he will look into and do the needful. (KNS)
