NC welcomes release of Hilal Lone


Srinagar, 18 June (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday welcomed the release of Party Member and Son of Party’s Member of Parliament from Baramulla Mohammad Akbar Lone, Mr. Hilal Lone from unlawful and solitary detention that lasted for nearly ten months, saying total redemption of the situation is not impossible until all other detainees languishing inside and outside are not also released fore with.
In a statement issued to KNS said, Party’s Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Member of Parliament Justice (retd) Hassnain Masoodi, Muhammad Syed Akhoon, Dr Sajad Shafi Uri, Showkat Ahmed Mir, Peer Afaq Ahmed, Imran Nabi Dar, Salman Ali Sagar, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Sara Hayat Shah, Ahsan Pardesi, Younis Gul, have welcomed the quashing of PSA and subsequent release of Hilal Lone.
Meanwhile Party’s Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar while welcoming the release of Party Member said that Hilal Sahib’s release was much awaited by his family members, friends and scores of admirers. “He has been languishing in solitary confinement in a detention center since August last year; he had to undergo further trepidation after he was slashed with PSA. I pass on good wishes to the family, friends, and scores of his supporters on behalf of the party. His release will bring much needed respite to his kith and kin, and his well wishers. However total redemption of the situation cannot take place until all detainees languishing inside and outside J&k are released. Scores of our youth are still languishing in jails across the country, it is high time for the government to allow them to walk free,” he said.
He also demanded immediate release of party colleagues including Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Nasir Aslam Wani, Mohammad Shafi Uri, AR Rather, Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzaan, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Mir Saifullah, Ali Muhammad Dar, Dr Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri, Irfan Shah, Aga Syed Mehmood, Abdul Majeed Larmi who continue to remain incarcerated at their respective residences.
