Says measure part of vindictive politics of ruling dispensation at Delhi to kill dissent

Srinagar,October (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference District Presidents and office bearers on Monday strongly condemned ED summons to Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah, saying the measure will not dampen the party's resolve to work for restoration of J&K’s constitutional status.

In a joint statement to KNS, Party functionaries and district presidents jointly condemned ED summons to Dr. Farooq Abdullah saying the motive behind intimidating the Party President is to deter him from representing the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Among those who condemned the undue intimidation of Party President include Party’s Provincial Vice President Muhammad Syed Akhoon, Central Secretary Irfan Shah, Mir Saifullah and district presidents Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Javed Dar, Altaf Ahmed Kaloo, GR Naaz, Peer Afaq, Haji Abdul Ahad Dar, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Mir, Showkat Ahmed Ganai, Sajad Shaheen, Showkat Mir, YNC PP Jammu Ajaz Jan, Salman Ali Sagar, Sajad Shaheen, Abdul Gani Malik, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Satwant Dogra.

The leaders termed the measure as part of vindictive politics practiced by the Central Government to kill dissent and disagreement across the country and in present case to silence the genuine demands for reversal of unilateral and unconstitutional decisions of 5th August 2019 and restoration of 4th August 2019. The party rank and file said that such tactics will not dampen the will of people of Jammu & Kashmir to have the Constitutional status restored. The leaders said the party will continue to fight for the restoration of J&k’s status constitutionally and peacefully.

“This government is doing everything it can to silence the combined voice of the people of J&K, which Dr Sahib has been able to forge,” they said.(KNS)
