Srinagar, 20 June (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday condemned the despicable incident of burglary at the Astan of Mir Shamas Ud Din Iraqi (RA) in Zadibal Srinagar asking the administration to nab the miscreants involved in the audacious act without delay.
It is indeed concerning to see a spike in such dastardly incidents; this particular incident should not be seen in isolation, previously also many revered shrines and Guruduwaras were also ransacked by miscreants, said Party spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar while condemning the incident. “The law enforcing agencies and police should connect the dots and make public who is behind such appalling incidents. Previously various mosques, shrines and Guruduwaras were also ransacked mischievously. So far the administration has failed to make the findings pertaining to those incidents public. The slack disposition of the police has emboldened miscreants behind such audacious acts,” he said.
In a statement issued to KNS reads, Imran said that such incidents are executed with malafide intentions aimed to disturb the amity, peace and brotherhood in the valley. “There has been a spike in such shameful incidents. Such malicious intent to breach amity and brotherhood among various sections of our society is not only condemnable but can have far reaching repercussions in the valley. Fortunately the people of Kashmir have never fallen prey to such divisive agenda; rather the people of Kashmir have repudiated such acts unequivocally. On behalf of my party, I denounce the incident and demand a thorough time bound probe into the incident. We express our unison with the people whose emotions have been hurt. I am sure that people will keep up with their traditional brotherhood and not allow such acts tear down our unity,” he said.
Kashmiris have in the past also foiled the nefarious designs of those who want to divide us on sectarian, religious basis. “Our unity is our great strength. It has been the main stay of our cultural ethos. It is our collective duty to denounce the ideology and person behind such acts aimed to create wedge between us. Need of the hour is to remain united, and not let our foe divide us for it is our unity that frets them. We all should adhere to the principles of peace and brotherhood that have guided us all through,” he added and demanded a through and time bound probe into the incident. (KNS)
