National Horticulture Board rates Brakapora Anantnag Nursery as 2 star

Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): In a major development of the horticulture sector, National Horticulture board rated the Brakapora Anantnag nursery as 2 star for Apple, walnut, apricot,peach & plum for a period of 2 years.

Confirming the development to KNS, Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmed Bhat said, "National Horticulture board government of India appriciated the Horticulture Kashmir initiatives & the accreditation team of national Horticulture board rated the Brakapora Anantnag nursery as 2 star for Apple, walnut, apricot,peach & plum for a period of 2 years"

 

He said High density plantation is done 5000 kanals,colonal root stock multiplied upto 10 lacs and .4lac plants were distributed under backyard Horticulture to 1lac house holds,@90% subsidy.

He also said that Present CA store facility available for apple n other fruits is 1.70lac MTs.

 

He further informed that Horticulture department provides 50% subsidy to food ans fruit processing units and 

have developed/established a special Almond abs stone Fruit nursery in kashmir division.

 

" We will also provide 20000 walnut plants of High quality from next year onwards to growers."

 He also said that on the Proposed Querentine facility center in Kashmir division at zainpora being setup on 440 kanals of land where world class apple & walnut trees would be made in large number, funded by National Horticulture board & Dev by National Seed corporation in consultation with Horticulture department.

Bhat also said Horticulture department Kashmir produced & provided 1lac high density plants from department nurseries to Growers.

Meanwhile Director Horticulture today appriciated the nursery team & incharge sareer Ahmed & provided them cash award and appriciation Letter for their work in recognition by the National Horticulture Board. (KNS).
