Nagrota encounter reflects attempt by Pakistan to disrupt polls: IGP Kashmir


Srinagar, November 19(KNS): IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar termed the Nagrota encounter reflects an attempt of Pakistan to disrupt BDC elections.

"pakistan is trying from some days to infiltrate militants in Kashmir to disturb elections. In this context Jammu police and security forces killed 4 militants. Their aim was to destabilize elections in valley. We are ready to scuttle their all moves. We are providing security to candidates from tommorw. They can go in field for compaining. There is no need to worry," he said according to KNS correspondent.
Regarding a question on Kakapra Grenade attack, he said " it was targetted at security forces but it exploded on civilians. We have identified the militant and will catch him soon."
On being asked about the security to candidates, he said "it is difficult to provide security to every candidate, will give them collective security. Those who are going for campaigning will be provided double security and their campaigning area will be secured."
He also said 200 to 250 militants are ready to Infiltrate in valley. We are thwart the attempts of Pakistan which is desperate to send militants here.
Four militants were killed today in an early dawn encounter in Nagrota area of Jammu.
