Admin assures prompt action on demands, grievances raised by people

 

Srinagar October 20:(KNS) The ambitious ‘My Town My Pride' programme today concluded at Srinagar with people taking away several certificates and Ayushman Bharat Golden cards besides enrolling for and updating their Adhaar cards.

The government organized a series of events in the city to take out the administration at the doorsteps of people for listening to their issues and concerns regarding development of their respective areas.

Director Hospitality and Protocol, Hashmat Ali Khan, attended a function held in the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Safakadal as the visiting officer while MD Cable Car Corporation, Majid Khalil Drabu, attended an event at Government Higher Secondary School, Zadibal as visiting officer.

More than 500 applications seeking domicile certificates and about 200 income certificates were received by the revenue officers at these venues. Around 150 applications for taking different revenue extracts were also received by the department at these venues.

Besides, over 200 Ayushman Bharat Gold card registrations were also made at these venues with the Health department representatives and long queues of people were seen waiting for getting Aadhar enrolments or updating the credentials in their existing cards.

Also, the visitors to these events projected several demands and problems which inter alia included augmentation of road network, proper drainage system, adequate power and water supply in their areas.

All the departments had installed their stalls for disseminating information and providing services to the participants.

Labour department informed that they had distributed more than Rs 86 lakh among the building construction workers. Moreover, JK Bank has provided dozens of sanction letters to the unemployed youth for starting their enterprises.

Dozens of applications were received for macadamisation and widening of roads. People also demanded augmenting the capacity of electric transformers in their respective areas to receive the quality power supply during the winter months.

' class=ajT v:shapes="_x0000_i1025"> The visiting officer, on the occasion, distributed free sports kits and equipments among the sports clubs and government schools.

Besides, Employment, UEED, Animal Husbandry, SMC, LAWDA, Horticulture, Handicrafts, Handloom, Agriculture, Fisheries and Irrigation departments had also kept their persons available for disseminating information about welfare schemes rolled out by their departments.

The departments also displayed and distributed brochures, banners and booklets containing all the relevant information regarding their schemes.

Dir Social Welfare hears public grievances at Parimpora, Srinagar

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 20: To cater to the needs of the general public and to address the developmental and Social issues, My Town My Pride programme was held at Parimpora Srinagar in which Visiting Officer, Director Social Welfare, Bashir Ahmad Dar gave a patient hearing to the people who raised their individual and collective issues.

While speaking about the programme, Visiting Officer said this is an endeavor by the J&K UT govt. to connect with public and address issues faced by them. He said different government departments are providing information to the participants regarding the measures being taken by the govt. for their welfare and upliftment.

Meanwhile, he distributed sports kit among the sports clubs to encourage youth to actively participate in sports activities.

During the programme Domicile, Income, age, birth and death certificates were also issued by Tehsil officials and Health officials.

To enthrall participants and keep them elated, a troupe of singers and musicians sung various soulful songs which attracted a large number of people to the My Town My Pride programme, here.(KNS)
