Sopore 29 March (KNS): A Municipal councilor and an SPO were killed while a civilian Was  injured in a  militant attack in North kashmir’s Sopore on Monday afternoon.

An official told Kashmir News Service service (KNS) that SPO  Shafqat Nazir Khan Son of Nazir Ahmad of Mundji Sopore  and Councillor Reyaz Ahmad Peer son of Ghulam Nabi Peer of Ningli Sopore who were injured in the militant attack succumbed to their injuries. 

 “one civilian was also injured in this attack who has been identified as Shamas din Peer son of Ghulam Mohd Peer of Khushal Colony Sopore and was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment”,he added. 

The official further said that the whole area was being cordoned off to nab the attackers.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar also visited the attack scene and directed the SSP Sopore to suspend the four constables who were on guard duty of deceased councillor.


DDC Sopore member  Dr Fareeda blamed the administration for delaying the treatment to the deceased persons.


"The incident happened at EO office Sopore That place is medical hub. No one came with a stretcher. They deceased lost lot blood due to delay in treatment." (KNS)
