Mir meets deputations, assure full support to their genuine demands

 

 

Khanabal (Ang), February 21:(KNS)  The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President today met various deputations from village  Khaterchek, Wangund, Manzmou , Dongwari and Bakerwal Chek at Khanabal Anantnag and assured them that their genuine demands will be taken appropriate  forum for their resolution.

The deputations apprised JKPCC President G.A. Mir about their concerns and hardships bound  to confront them due to the closure of Ujroo post close to construction site of Qazigund Banihal Tunnel and sought their immediate resolution.

The deputations also told Mir that it would be very difficult for them to reach their destinations,  as the Ujroo post, which was the main source of connection between  Tehsil HQ Dooru and NH has been closed due to the ongoing construction of Qazigund Banihal Tunnel and demanded  appropriate crossing to make their movement hassle free, enabling them to reach their destinations without covering a long distance

They also raised the issue of patients and old aged persons, who could not cover long distance to reach hospitals or their respective residences.

The supply of water has also got badly affected due to the Tunnel and demanded pure drinking water supply, on priority basis, besides construction of culvert near village Wangund, deputations told the G.A. Mir

G.A. Mir expressed serious concern over the problems raised by the deputations on account of crossing, water supply and other local issues confronting  inhabitants of these villages, but at the sametime, he said that Qazigund Banihal tunnel was undoubtedly in the larger interests of people, having affected a few villages, connecting Tehsil HQ Dooru through Ujroo Post at National Highway.

I have  taken up the matter with some authorities, G.A. Mir added  and also assured that their ( people’s) grievances will be taken up at appropriate forum for their resolution to ensure that these were resolved, at right earnest.

On this occasion JKPCC President said besides construction of Qazigund Banihal tunnel, there was urgent need to address the  concerns of inhabitants living adjacent to the Tunnel in these villages.

JKPCC also demanded construction of culvert near Wangund and water supply to these villages, reiterating that the concerned authorities must address the concern of inhabitants by attaching importance to local issues raised by the deputations. (KNS)
