Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNS): The Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Friday said that the militant killed in Srinagar encounter was affiliated with Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind militant outfit.

IGP told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the militant killed in the encounter has been identified as Aamir Riyaz of Khrew area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

He said that he was the relative of one of the accused involved in Lethpora militant attack and assigned to carry out fidayeen attack.

Notably, on late Friday night an encounter broke out in Bemina area of Srinagar, in which a militant was killed. (KNS)
