Srinagar, Mar 10 (KNS):  Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has approached Delhi High Court seeking quashing of ED summons requiring her to appear before it on March 15, 2021, in connection with a money laundering case.
Enforcement Directorate on Friday had issued summon to her.
According to the documents in possession of KNS, she is being summoned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002 (15 of 2003". The PDP chief spokesman, Suhail Bukhari also confirmed to "KNS" that the Party president approached the Delhi High Court.

CPIM senior leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami had called the summoning of PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) another glaring example how the BJP government at the Center is trying to muzzle the voices of dissent by using probe agencies against political opponents.
Tarigami had said that this is nothing but a political vendetta and part of vindictive politics practiced by the central government.

He also said that the government should hold dialogue with stakeholder and restore special status which remains the only option to address the deepening uncertainty in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. (KNS)
