Medical camp organized by Indian army in various parts of tehsil karnah.

Tangdar December 19 (KNS): Jabri is a remote village located along Line of Control in Kamah tehsil of Kupwara. Being in a far flung area the local populace needs additional support from Indian Army besides civil administration. It is especially required in the winter months. Towards this in order to mitigate the problem of medical care and medicines to the villagers, Sari Battalion under the aegis of Shakti Vijay Brigade organised a medical camp at Jabri_ 102 civilians including males, females and children took benefit of the medical camp. All were provided medicines by the Army doctors after medical check ups.
In addition to medical care, a screening camp was also held for recruitment in the Army and other recruitment as precursor to the recruitment rallies planned next year 29 youths registered for the medical check ups and documentation check. Preparation for written examination will also be organised by the Army to ensure high selection success. This drive is being undertaken throughout Kamah by the Army.
Army is also running a women empowerment centre at Jabri where ladies are enrolled for training in sewing and knitting. 12 sewing machines and five knitting machines have been provided to the centre through Sadbhavana. A local lady and a chowkidar is employed and paid by the Army for running the centre. Plans are afoot to display the prepared material by the ladies in AVVWA shops of the Army to generate additional incomes to the women and hence empower them.

Further 2 jatt regiment under sadbhavna only, also organized a medical camp at nawa gabra, where nearly 400 locals took the advantage of the camp (KNS).
