Srinagar March 22:(KNS) Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu today inaugurated a Free Medical Camp organized by 23 Battalion Central Reserve Police at Shutra Shahi Neelam Chowk under Police Station Shaheed Gunj Srinagar.
The program was inaugurated in presence of Shri Udai Pratap Singh Commandant 23 Battalion.
SRP Meena ,second in Command, Smt. Ranjana Singh Asst. Comdt 23 Bn and Dr Samarjeet Vermani were present on the occasion.
Free medical checkup and medicines were distributed among locals of the area.
At least 430 locals attended the said apart from free medical consultation/examination, needy patients were also provided with free of cost medicines.
While hailing the efforts of 23 Battalion Central Reserve Police Mattu said that it is the great step of reaching out to the General Public by organising medical check-up and medicine distribution camps providing treatment, medicines for common and seasonal diseases etc.
Such camps which provide free of cost medicines and checkups should be frequently organized to benefit poor and deprived sections of the society.
Mattu keeping in view the surge in Covid 19 pandemic stressed that these camps should be organised taking full precautions of social distancing, face masks and frequent hand washing to eliminate any chance of spread of Covid.(KNS)
