Handwara, June 12 (KNS): Residents of Mawer Handwara and adjoinig areas Friday alleged authorities for not macdamizing the road properly and have stopped the rest macadamization for unknown reasons.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the Vice-Chairman BDC Mawer along with several sarpachs have stopped the macdamization of the road as they alleged that the concern department is not macadamizing the road as per guidelines.

Talking to KNS over phone Sarpanch Batgund Fayaz Ahmad Reshi said that the macdamization has been stopped in the area as the concern department is not macadamizing the road properly. He also said that the road was macadamized previous year as well and in two months the potholes surfaced over th stretch.

However when KNS contacted to OIC 99 Beacon Nowgam, he admitted that in previous year the road was not macadamized properly by the contractor and have directed the said contractor to do the repairment of the road. He further said the matter has been sorted out and the macdamization work on the road has been restarted. (KNS)
