Massive traffic jam creates mess on NH, Nagrota banihal and Srinagar JD(U)

Jammu 18 February (KNS): JD(U) party president G.m. shaheen  slams the govt  said Frequent traffic jams in the summer capital have become bad to worse.

In a statement issued to KNS, shaheen said At Rambagh, Hyderpora, Sanat Nagar and other adjacent roads, the traffic also moves at snail’s pace. “Traffic jams have become a routine affair. No efforts are being made to regulate vehicular movement,”

shaheen said Despite the construction of flyover and grade separator the problem of frequent traffic jams are so common in our valley that people have lost hope of things getting better on this front, in the immediate future. Earlier we used to have only a few spots where vehicular movement would get extremely slow, but now new points of horrible traffic jams are surfacing up in the valley, especially in the Srinagar city.  shaheen said

In Baramulla district the most frequent spots which continue to witness frequent traffic jams are- Sungrama, Puthakhah, Pattan, etc and as one gets out from the mess while heading city wards, one gets halted again at HMT Crossing, Qamarwari and then at Batamaloo, etc. Same is the situation in other places. However, when complete gridlock occurs then it’s the army men who later regulate the traffic at different routes in Kashmir. We have lost so many patients till today on the way to hospital in these jams quite many times. But nothing has changed till date on our roads. At Srinagar- Jammu National highway, traffic jams have become a routine affair now, and each day passengers have to bear the brunt of the nightmare.

Shaheen emphasize that Govt. should recruit more traffic policemen, as movement off common  people will become easier

Shaheen appealed governor administration the ways must be created to ease the traffic jam at toll plaza Jammu where people have to spend hours in queue

Shaheen appealed the National Highway authority NH-44 must  provide all-weather-connectivity from Jammu to the Kashmir valley.  as It will reduce journey time from Jammu to Srinagar and strategic border areas in the State of J&K. Moreover, implementation of the project would result in development of basic infrastructure in the region which would ultimately lead to overall economic development of the regions of the State.
