Market Checking Squad destroys expired goods, impose fine against erring shopkeepers in Karnah

Srinagar, April 29, (KNS): Joint teams of enforcement agencies conducted extensive market checking in frontier Tehsil of :Karnah north Kashmir Kupwara District and recovered a fine of Rs 22000 from erring shopkeepers for violation of rules during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Kashmir News Service the impressive inspection squad led by Tawheed Ahmad (KAS) and Mushtaq Ahmad in-charge of essential commodities to conduct the market checking throughout the tehsil During the series of inspections, some shopkeepers were found selling expired food items, underweight packages and violating other laws.

Rotten eatables including vegetables, fruit, milk and milk products were destroyed during the drive

The market checking drives were conducted by team of officials drawn from Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs, Revenue, and Police. The drive aimed to provide quality eatables to the customers especially in the month of Ramadan and also to check overcharging by the shopkeepers. (KNS)
