Srinagar Dec 05 (KNS):Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, KAS today assumed the charge of Director Agriculture Kashmir. A warm welcome was accorded to Director Agriculture by the officers/officials of the Department.

While interacting with the officers the Director stressed for effective work culture and asked the employees to work with full dedication, discipline and professionalism. He said he will utilize all his expertise and supervision for the welfare of the department and will work round the clock for upliftment of the Farming community.

Immediately after assuming the charge he attended the webinar on world soil day organised by the institution of engineers (India) J&K State centre in collaboration with Directorate of Agriculture.

Speaking on the occasion Manzoor Qadri said that after taking the first hand information from the senior officers of the department regarding the soil conservation measures, my priority would be integrated nutrient management, issuing advisories regarding limits of using fertilizers and other chemicals, promote organic fertilizers and will utilize the service of my field functionaries creating awareness among the farming community for preserving micro flora and fauna.

Joint Director Agriculture Extension Choudhary Mohammad Iqbal during the webinar presented a detailed overview of the Department regarding conservation of soil health management and other different agricultural activities being carried out in the field.

The webinar was attended by Altaf Aijaz Andrabi former Director Agriculture, Er. Aamir Ali Mir Chairman IEI J&K SC, Arjumand Hussain Talib and others(KNS).
