Anantnag, Oct 06 (KNS); Anantnag police on Tuesday evening arrested a scooty rider with 150 bottles of Codeine in Khanabal chowk in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
According to Kashmir News Service correspondent on the directions of SSP Anantnag a special naka was led by DO Khabal and he intercepted scooty rider during checking 150 bottles of Codeine have been recovered from his possession.
Police source has identified him as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Hanjidatas Anantnag.
SSP Anantnag also confirmed the seizure of Codeine bottles and said the drug peddler has been arrested and his scooty has been seized.
He said an FIR 33/2020 under section 8/21 NPDS has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile locals of the area hailed the Anantnag police for going tough against drug peddler in the area.(KNS)
