Handwara, Aug 23 (KNS): Residents of Ganie Mohalla Magam in north Kashmir’s Handwara town on Sunday expressed strong resentment against the authorities and said they are under continuous red zone category since last 45 days.

According to KNS, Ganie Mohalla was declared red zone after coivid-19 positive case reported in the area. Residents alleged that administration has not provided the facilities to them.

They also said that majority of people in the village are dependent on labour but since last 45 days they are unable to earn single penny due to redzone area.

"We will die of hunger if curbs will not be lifted", residents said and added the person who tested positive for Coivid-19 has been turned negative before three weeks but despite restrictions are not being lifted.

Meanwhile Zamindar Forum J&K President Hamid Malik also expressed serious concern over the continuous redzone restrictions and said the sample collection for this particular Mohalla has not be done.

He appealed authorities to withdraw the restrictions and allow habitants to resume their normal life.

When KNS tried to contact ADC Handwara Nazir Ahmad, his phone was not reachable. (KNS)
