Lt Governor meets RTI Deputation led by Engineer Irfan Calls on Lt Governor

 


Srinagar September 14:(KNS) A delegation of J&K RTI Foundation led by Engineer Irfan, called on Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha at the Civil Secretariat here.

The Lt Governor patiently heard the deputation and ensured that the merit of each demand will be analyzed and action will be taken on priority to redress them. He also gave on spot directions on issues that could be immediately redressed.

The deputation was headed by its founder Er Irfan Banka, and apprised His Excellency regarding the hardships faced by RTI Activists. Besides the Hon'ble Lt. Governor was apprised regarding the implementation of "Whistle bowler protection Act" and problems identified and their solution in RTI. The Hon'ble Lt Governor was presented with a memorandum regarding problems, issues and their redressal.

Engineer Irfan urged the Lieutenant Governor to ensure protection of RTI Activists in J&K, establish a Commission for listening second appeals and complaints in J&K and resolve all pending grievances at J&K Lt. Governors Grievance Cell. The deputation also appealed for establishing an online mechanism for receiving RTI Applications and appeals and updating all government websites on priority basis.
