Lt. Governor inaugurates three major projects in Karnah

Srinagar, July 18, (KNS) Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu on Saturday e-inaugurated three major project for border town Karnah including Government degree college Tangdar worth Rs 15.50 crore 6.3 K.V receiving station at Chitterkote worth 2.49 crore and laid foundation stone of 12 MW Power project worth 96.967 crore.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu Saturday toured north Kashmir's Kupwara District to took the review of developmental works being carried out in the district during the L.G visit he e. Inaugurated the three major project for border town Karnah including newely constructed building with worth of 15.50 crore of Govt degree college Tanghdar, 6.3 MV power recieving station at Chitterkote worth 249.28 Lakhs and 12 MW hydroelectric project lacated at village Pingla Cheyari worth 96. 967 crore
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this Hydroelctric project was prepared in 2011-12 for enhancing the power generation capacity from 2 MW to 12 MW besides shifting the power house downstream by about 1.5 km near village Khudri. After a competitive bidding process, the Board of Directors of JKSPDC in its 74th meeting held on 22.04.2019 approved the award in favour of M/s Angelique-SAPU Consortium This project will cater to the power demand of the area and will also be a source of the locals socio-economic upliftment.
Meanwhile a deligation headed by Former member of legislative council and senior leader of APNI party Javid Mirchal called on Lieutenant Governor and also presented him a memorandum on the several issues of Karnah. (KNS)
