Kupwara, June 25 (KNS): Former MLA Advocate Bashir Ahmad Dar on Wednesday compared LG led administration with East India Company and said the present dispensation in J&K is hell bent upon snatching livelihood of Kashmiris and draining out all economic resources.
According to statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Dar said recently Department of Geology and Mining floated tenders during lockdown period when everyone was scared to step out from four walls but the district administration Kupwara shelved the agreement and violated all rules and regulation.
“There happened a contract between lease holders and Department of Geology & Mining in 2017 for a period of five years but currently new tenders were floated and those invested huge money earlier had been pushed to starvation”, he said.
“Though lease holders knocked the doors of court in order to get some relief but the government seems to be in a hurry by floating new tenders without waiting court verdict”, Advocate Dar said.
Besides Divisional Commissioner, he also appealed district administration for early intervention so that families of those who invested huge amount of money will get livelihood protection. He also criticized muscular approach of authorities towards affected persons. (KNS)
