LeT militants commissioned Pampore strike; attackers identified: IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar

Srinagar, Oct 05 (KNS): Terming Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit responsible behind the Pampore attack in which two CRPF personnel were killed and three others suffered injuries, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range Vijay Kumar on Monday said those commissioned the attack have been identified and manhunt to “neutralize them” has been taken up.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), IGP who was taking stock of the situation at the incident spot, told reporters that those carried out attack on CRPF personnel have been identified and manhunt for their neutralization has been started. “Two militants from Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) came on a motor bike and fired indiscriminately at the CRPF Road Opening Party (ROP) near Kandizal area of Pampore in which two CRPF men died while three others sustained injuries”, IGP said.
He said the injured have been moved to hospital where there condition is out of danger.
IGP said that those carried out the attack have been identified as Saif-ullah, a Pakistani militant and another one is local. “Manhunt has been launched to neutralize them and I am hopeful they will be neutralized soon”, IGP Vijay Kumar said.
When asked about the non-stop attacks by militants on highway, IGP said that militants find it easy to target security forces on the highway. “Highway is a busy place where hundreds of civilian vehicles are passing every day. If we retaliate and fire indiscriminately like militants did, there is possibility of civilian casualty”, IGP said, adding that due to congested movement of civilians on highway, militants who attacked the CRPF party managed to flee from the spot”.
