LeT hideout busted in Awantipora, arms and ammunition recovered: Police

Awantipora October 16:(KNS) Government forces on Friday claimed to have busted a hideout of the LeT militant outfit and recovered arms and ammunition in Kawani Awantipora near river Jehlum bank of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
According to reports reached to KNS, that in the early morning a search operation was launched in the area by Awantipora Police Police with 55 RR and 185 BN CRPF and during search one large underground hideout of Lashkar- e- Taiba outfit was busted and destroyed.
The details of the hideout are: Opening 2.5 ft X 2.5 ft (covered by iron lid), Room 1st 7 ft X 10 ft ( height 08 ft), Room 2nd 7 ft X 7 ft ( height 08 ft) and Toilet point 3 ft X 4 ft(height 08 ft)
He further added that incriminating material and a cache of arms and ammunition of proscribed outfit Lashkar- e- Taiba have been recovered from the busted and destroyed hide outs which include . Pistol=01, Pistol Magazine=01, Ammunition AK47= 2091 and Grenades =03 No's was recovered.
All the material has been taken into Police custody for investigation purpose. Case FIR number 147/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.(KNS)
