LAWDA seals two structures, removes earth filling

Srinagar March 13:(KNS)  The demolition drive was launched by Lakes and Waterways Development Authority through its Enforcement Wing under the supervision of Enforcement Officer namely Ms. Neelofer, in the area of, Ashaibagh and Saidakadal in which, one tin walling/barbed wire and one single storey were demolished on spot which were raised in the green area. Moreover earth filling was also removed by the demolition team of Enforcement wing, LDA in the area of Rangerstop Saidakadal which was dumped in order to fill the water body illegally. During the demolition operation there was some resistance from the miscreants in the area of Ashaibagh, but  with the support of SDPO / SHO, Nigeen the demolition team remained on forefront and managed to demolish the illegally raised tin walling / barbed wire raised in the green area. The demolition operation was also accompanied by SHO Rainawari who gave the full support during the demolition operation. Further, one shop in the area of Jogilanker Rainawari was demolished and two structures were also sealed in the area of Rangparistan Rainawari.  The demolition drive will continue with full vigour to remove all the illegal structures that have come up along the non-permissible zone in the catchment area of Dal Lake. Meanwhile, the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority warning people against raising illegal structures in and around the Dal and Nigeen lake. Despite repeated warnings, several greedy and vested interests are frequently trying to raise illegal constructions around the Dal and Nigeen lakes. They should desist from raising such constructions and cooperate with the department or face action, also warned the truckers against carrying construction material to the area and vehicles plying in the area without permission will be seized and action initiated against the owners.(KNS)
