Laigroo demands release of Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, July 29 (KNS): PDP youth Secretary Arif Laigroo has demanded release of former Chief Minister and party president Mehbooba Mufti before Eid-ul-Adha.
In a statement issued to KNS, Laigroo said that that Mehbooba has been detained illegally. “They must end illegal detention as soon as possible,” he said government has no grounds to keep het detained for such a long time
Several politicians, including Omar, his father and NC president Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and NC general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, were detained hours before the Centre announced the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 of the Constitution and bifurcation of the state into union territories on August 5 last year.
While Omar and Farooq have subsequently released, Mehbooba continues to be in custody under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
He said government seems scared of Mehbooba as she had cleared that she won’t budge on movement of roll back of Article 370. (KNS)
