Labourers have been engaged through CSC as per the manpower requirements of BRO projects in Leh & Ladakh

Srinagar: July 10 (KNS): Common Services Center an SPV under Ministry of Electronics and IT, deploy skilled migrant workers for road construction projects of BRO in Leh & Ladakh

The COVID 19 pandemic has triggered a massive reverse migration from the “destination” to “source” in large parts of the country.

CSC SPV has come up with a Digital Naukri platform to bridge the gap between job seekers and Job Providers. Now job search or hiring-related to the blue-collar sector will become simple, smart and much cheaper than ever through CSCs across the country. The main aim is to transform the employment process for the youth in Gramin Bharat.

According to statement issued to KNS, CSCs are more than service delivery points in rural India. They are positioned as change agents, promoting rural entrepreneurship and building rural capacities and livelihoods. They are enablers of community participation and collective action for engendering social change through a bottom-up approach with a key focus on the rural citizen.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) develops and maintains road networks in India's border areas and friendly neighbouring countries under the Ministry of Defence. BRO is also responsible for the construction of road infra in the UT of Leh & Ladakh. Due to COVID 19 pandemic, the road construction work has been affected and BRO is looking for workers having requisite skills in road construction activities as well as unskilled workers who are desirous to work in Leh and Ladakh UT. BRO employs more than one lakh workers for its construction projects every year.

“Being a strategic cornerstone of the Digital India program in today’s difficult times, CSC has come up with a Digital Platform – Gramin Naukri Portal for connecting blue collar manpower as the requirements for both public and private enterprises”,

CSC e-Governance Services India Limited through this medium requests all the unemployed labourers to visit their nearby CSC centres for registering themselves in CSC Gramin Portal.

In continuation of this, three batches of migrant workers having skills in road construction have been deployed at BRO construction sites in Leh & Ladakh. Common Services Centres are supporting migrant workers with a better life in terms of better opportunities, better skills, better employers, and much more through "Gramin Naukri Portal". (KNS)
