Kupwara, June 06, (KNS): Residents of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district seemed ignoring Covid-19 lockdown guidelines despite huge spike in caseloads in the district that has crossed the mark of 330.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the residents of Kupwara district have taken the lockdown guidelines for granted and have started to step out from homes without taking precautions and safety. From couple of weeks besides people roaming without wearing face masks, shops and other business establishments also in the district have started to resume their business without taking precautions into account.
As per reports people associated with trades like fast food, sweet shops, hardware, grocery etc were seen open throughout the day without limiting their business to early hours. The current mess in the district has put lives of thousands into risk which can trigger alert anytime if situation is not perceived aptly.
Senior citizens of the district have expressed grave concern over the breach of Covid-19 lockdown guidelines and have appealed authorities to take serious note of it.
Tehsildar Kupwara Javed Ahmad Zargar told KNS that administration is not in slumber and is monitoring the situation keenly. He said the district administration has seized many shops involved in defying lockdown orders.
He appealed people of the district to act upon the guidelines in letter and spirit and follow health advisories issued by the administration. He also said that administration will sit and draft strict guidelines by this evening for the safeguard of community and added violators won’t go unpunished. (KNS)
