Kupwara 01 April (KNS) Continuing its war against drug menance, Police party of PS Kralpora established a naka at Rationpora kralpora and started checking of vehicles & pedestrians.

During the naka, police party intercepted one person in a suspicious condition who tried to escape from the spot but was tactfully apprehended.

On preliminary questioning the person disclosed his identity as  liyaqat Khathana S/o Kutib Din Khatana R/o Kundayan Keran and during his search 500 grams of Brown Sugar has been recovered .

Accordingly legal action has been taken and a case FIR no. 14/21 u/s 8/21 NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Kralpora against the accused person and further investigation has been taken up. 
 
Kupwara Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them.(KNS)
