Kupwara: 8 Terminated skill development firm employees waiting for justice, demand re-hiring

Srinagar, June 13 (KNS): Skill development firm in Kupwara district in March terminated its 8 employees with out intimidating them. since then all 8 employees are waiting for re-hiring.
Speaking to KNS over phone , one of the terminated employees, Zahoor Ahmad said "On March 20, the company sent a message and gave directions to its employees on their official WhatsApp group, to work from their homes, but when in April we tried to login for ERP attendance it showed 21 March was our last working day". It shocked us all, he said.
He further said that without informing us they have terminted us even during the pandemic of coronavirus.
The terminated employees appealed the government of J&K to look into the issue and demand re-hiring.
The company is a skill development firm running under the Pradhan Mantri Koshal Vikas Yojuna (PMKVY).
It is pertinent to mention tha Central Ministry of Labour & Employment issued an advisory in March, in which ministry advised employers of Public/Private Establishment to extend their coordination by not terminating their employees, particularly casual or contractual workers from job or reduce their wages.(KNS)
