Srinagar, 29 April (KNS): Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) President Haji Mohammad Yaseen Khan , who was released from Agra Jail reached his residence on Tuesday afternoon. After being in prison for nine months, Khan who also heads Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) was released on Monday with the government revoking the Public Safety Act (PSA) against the business leader.

According to statement issued to KNS, expressing gratitude, KTMF acting president Manzoor Ah Bhat said that, “we owe a huge debt of gratefulness to all for showing sympathy and concern during past nine months.

We are thankful to relatives,friends, members,colleagues,district bodies ,political parties,social activists,religious organisations and others who showed their concern by personally meeting or called us telephonically during the time Yaseen Sb was in the prison”.
Bhat said, “we are also obliged to our other fellow business organisations from the Kashmir valley who expressed their deep concern from time to time during past nine months”.

Moreover , General Secretary KTMF Bashir Ah Kongposh has requested everyone to refrain from visiting Khan’s residence following his arrival at home. He said the measure is for time being in order to help avoid transmission of fatal COVID-19 and subject to his home quarantine.

He said, once the quarantine period will be over after 14 days he can meet his colleagues & fellow businessmen at his home individually. Kongposh also prayed for the wellbeing of people and urged them to follow the concerned health and sanitation advisories of the government.

Pertinent to mention KTMF chief, Mohammad Yaseen Khan was arrested on August 5 last year and taken to Agra Central Jail where he continued to remain in detention under Public Safety Act (PSA).

According to an order issued on 24th April 2020 by the J&K Home secretary Shaleen Kabra, the PSA ordered by the district magistrate of Srinagar on August 7 and subsequently extended for three months twice, stands revoked, the statement said (KNS)
