Khajipora Residents Protest Against Forest Department for not allowing PMGSY to Resume Work on Khachipora -Madam road

Tangmarg July 02:(KNS) The residents of Khajipora village of Tangmarg on Wednesday held protest against the Forest Department Tangmarg for stopping the widening of road under PMGSY on Khachipora -Madam road. The work on the road has been stopped by the Forest department as the land belongs to department of forest, however the residents want both the departments to sit and find a way, so that the work which has been earlier stopped will be resumed.
We want the resumption of work on the said road lest we will come on roads to protest. The work on the road has been stopped and it is causing huge pain to the inhabitants. We request the authority to look into it. A resident told to KNS.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Tangmarg Showkat Ahmad Tolds KNS News said no work can be start on forest land, nothing can be done without clearance from forest department. The user agency has to follow the procedure to get the permission for the same. They need to apply online on parvish.nic.in to get the clearance from forest department.(KNS)
The KNS also contacted the Executive Engineer PMFSY, Shah Jaan, he said that we are already in contact with the forest department and we are following the procedure. I am sure the matter will be sorted out within days, he said.
