Karnah residents protest, demand tunnel on Sadhna top

Karnah, Mar 20 (KNS) Residents of Karnah thesil today protested to press the government to construct a tunnel at Sadhna top in this border district of north Kashmir as they remain cut off from rest of the country due to bad weather in winter.
The protest was organised under the banner of  Karnah Tunnel Coordination Committee (KTCC) led by  Haji Wali Ahmad. 
The protesters requested the government to construct a tunnel at Sadhna top so that the area is not cut off from the rest of the country.
Qazi Hamid ul Din, a protestor accused Government of  biased approach with the area.
" We have appealed many times in past to construct a tunnel at the highest altitude of Sadhana top so that the far flung area can remain connected with the rest of the valley round the year.
There are more than two lakh souls of Tangdar, Teetwal and Karnah that remains cut off from rest of the Valley from December to May every year."
The government had ordered to prepare the DPR to the BRO but still there is no update about it, he added.
The members also said that there is not a big deal to construct 6kms long tunnel if government is willing to do so.
BDC Chairperson block Teethwal Nashada Parveen, DDC Member Karnah Adv. Najma Hamid and many senior leaders, members of Civil Society Karnah and members of local community were also present there.(KNS)
