Kalgie to Dachi road in Uri left unattended by NHPC-2, locals appeal authorities to intervene

Uri, June 17 (KNS): Residents of Kalgie Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday expressed resentment over dilapidated condition of Kalgie to Dachi road and appealed authorities to take steps for repairmen of the stretch.

Talking to KNS, several residents of Kalgie and adjoining areas narrated ordeal facing by travelers using Kalgie to Dachi stretch. They said authorities have abandoned the road and have left the residents to suffer.

“The road connects five adjoining villages but it is unfortunate on part of government who left the block at developmental level”, locals said.

“The senior citizens of the area repeatedly approached officials of NHPC-2 but all proved futile”, a local told KNS.

Pertinently Kalgie to Dachi area comes under NHPC-2 who left the road unattended from several years. Locals told that it has been two years now that NHPC-2 authority didn’t pay heed to the problems faced by people living in adjoining areas who often used the path to reach other locations.

They appealed higher authorities to initiate repair work on the road so that people living in Kalgie and adjoining areas feel untroubled journey. (KNS)
